Tamiya King Hauler Truck
This has been a King haul – pun intended – but now it’s (almost) ready: The complete Tamiya truck with all parts modeled.
ETA 6497-1 complete watch movement
Never one to turn down a challenge, it’s modeled mainly after photos and a small amount of technical documentation from ETA. That took a while(!), but result is reasonably convincing when it comes to shape, form, size and interaction between the parts.
Virtual Shipyard:
SMIT Denemarken Tug
The Virtual Shipyard is hard at work on this magnificent tug of the SMIT Nederland-class. It is a Dutch built and operated tug, named after Denmark, that is apparently located in Esbjerg, Denmark presently, after a short stint in Finland.
Tamiya King Hauler:
Rear Differential
The rear differential with all gears from Tamiya’s excellent RC Truck.
Sten gun Mk. 2 1942 complete
Ever wondered how a submachine gun works? The British Sten gun from 1942 is a good example of a typical submachine gun. Its called “sub” machine gun because it uses low powered pistol ammunition instead of full power rifle cartridges. It operates with a blow-back bolt, which means that the bolt is not locked but seals the chamber due to its forward inertia. This makes it very simple, but also prone to misfiring. A brilliant example of rough industrial design where function and ease of manufacture trumped aesthetics and tradition..
F-16 Jet after Dan Lavoie tutorial
Have just finished the third SolidWorks tutorial by Dan Lavoie this past week and here is the result: The F-16 Fighting Falcon Jet. I added Danish nationality marks and updated the weaponry to realistic surfaces and colors along with the rest of the airplane. Another great surfacing tutorial by Dan that I can highly recommend. Great fun.
